Evergreen Trees

Evergreen trees are trees which retain their foliage for more than a growing season. There are many different types of evergreen trees ranging from small trees such as Dwarf Oriental Spruce (Picea orientalis ‘nana’) which only grow a few feet tall, to massive ones like Eastern White Pine (Pinus Strobus) that can reach 200 ft.

In colder environments, like ours (zones 5 -6), some of the more common evergreens are Spruce (Picea), Fir (Abies), and Pine (Pinus) which are all cone-bearing trees.

Evergreens are perfect for planting as privacy screens, wind breaks or as ornamental specimens. They add consistent form and year-round character to your landscape. We’ve included, for reference, some of the evergreen trees present in our landscape.
